The Bracket — How the Last Four Lines Up
The two semi-final winners meet in the final on Sunday, July 19, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (the third-place play-off is the day before, July 18).
- Semi-final 1 (Tuesday, July 14, Arlington/Dallas): France vs Spain
- Semi-final 2 (Wednesday, July 15, Atlanta): England vs Argentina
On paper this is the toughest last four in memory — France, Spain, England and Argentina are the tournament’s four highest-ranked teams, and no soft touch survives. France are the clear outright favourite; the market rates SF2 the tighter of the two ties.
Semi-Final Fixtures and Match Odds
Semi-final 1 — France vs Spain. Tuesday, July 14, 3:00 PM ET (2:00 PM CDT), AT&T Stadium, Arlington/Dallas. France 2.35 (+135), draw 3.20, Spain 3.20 (+220). Only the second World Cup meeting between the two, and the first since 2006. Full breakdown in the France vs Spain semi-final preview.
Semi-final 2 — England vs Argentina. Wednesday, July 15, 3:00 PM ET, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta. England 2.60 (+160), draw 2.90, Argentina 3.10 (+210). Both lines quote a full 90-minute 1X2 with a draw. SF2 is the more compressed three-way market — the books see it as close to a coin-flip between England and Argentina, with the draw short given knockout football goes to extra time.
Outright Winner Odds
France remain the tournament favourite; behind them the board tightened sharply after the quarter-finals. As of July 12–13 (decimal, with cross-book ranges in prose):
- France — 2.35–2.50; favourite at every book (ESPN 2.35, FanDuel 2.40, FOX 2.50)
- Spain — 4.30–5.10; drifted since the quarter-finals
- England — 4.10–5.90; steamed hard after beating Norway (FanDuel’s 4.10 makes England its second favourite)
- Argentina — 5.00–5.20; marginally shorter after the win over Switzerland
One note for line-shoppers: the second-favourite slot is a genuine conflict. ESPN ranks Spain (5.10) ahead of Argentina (5.20) ahead of England (5.90); FanDuel flips it, with England (4.10) shortest, then Spain (4.30), then Argentina (5.00). If you fancy England, the FanDuel-style price is far shorter than the ESPN one — and vice-versa for Spain.
Golden Boot Odds
The scoring race is a two-man affair at the top, both level on eight goals:
- Kylian Mbappé (France) — favourite (around 2.0–2.2); eight goals, ahead on the assists tiebreak
- Lionel Messi (Argentina) — second favourite (around 2.5); eight goals
- Jude Bellingham (England) — 14.00 (+1300); six goals after his brace against Norway
- Harry Kane (England) — six goals; a fresh single-book price was not published in our window
Erling Haaland’s seven goals are frozen now that Norway are out, so only Mbappé, Messi, Kane and Bellingham can add to their tallies. Mbappé is favourite over Messi purely on the assists tiebreak — both are on eight. The full market is on our Golden Boot odds page.
Where the Value Sits
The read across the round:
- France to reach the final is still the safest structural play on the board — they are the favourite in SF1 and would be favoured in the final against either SF2 side.
- England on the FanDuel-style 4.10 outright is the number I would take if I could get it — steamed but still longer than a genuine second favourite should be against this field.
- The SF2 draw / extra time is worth a look — England vs Argentina is priced as a near coin-flip and both these sides know how to grind a knockout tie the distance.
- Under 2.5 goals in France-Spain is the single-game lean of the round (see the dedicated preview) — two elite defences, only one prior meeting, and everything to lose.
- The first World Cup semi-final in history to feature the top four ranked teams: France, Spain, England, Argentina.
- France (2.35–2.50) stay the clear favourite; the second-favourite slot is a live book conflict (FanDuel has England shortest, ESPN has Spain).
- Mbappé and Messi lead the Golden Boot on eight goals each, Mbappé favourite on the assists tiebreak.
- Best structural bet: France to reach the final; best value swing: England outright at the FanDuel-style 4.10.
Betting the Semi-Finals in Canada
Both ties are live on Canadian-facing books such as Boomerang Bet, Betibet, Blitz.bet, Rabona and Spinit, priced in CAD. Single-game wagering is legal nationwide, with Ontario’s open market and provincial platforms (PlayNow, others) elsewhere. Line-shopping matters more than usual here — the England outright alone swings from 4.10 to 5.90 between books.
